About Me

Hello and welcome to The Video Teacher. I started a video production company in 1993 after selling another business. I fell in love with making a living being creative and creating videos. And for 15 years I produced thousands of videos from weddings to small commercials.
In 2009, I took a break from producing videos daily to actually teach students how to produce videos. And in that time, I actually learned more from teaching than actually doing. Don't get me wrong, I never stopped producing videos for clients, I just didn't do it full time.
And over the 25+ years in video, I've learned a lot. And in the 10+ years I have taught students, I have learned a lot. I have had accolades from my teaching...and now I want to bring my entrepreneurial world and my teaching world together. Welcome to The Video Teacher!
Creating The Video Teacher In 2016, I created the framework for the Video Teacher because many new teachers were asking me for lesson plans, programming issues, and just general classroom management. I have developed a program to specifically address the issues most film/video and broadcast teachers face in the course of their career. I have proven programming that the average teacher can implement right away and literally see most of their problems in the classroom disappear. My systemized approach to the classroom combines successful business strategies and small business ideas with teaching principles to effectively enhance your program right away!
There really is no need to struggle in your class day after day. I've watched great video teachers succumb to the pressures video teachers face and now I have a solution that WORKS!!! Sign up today!

Tracy N Misner

Alpharetta High School Teacher Selected as Apple Distinguished Educator
For the first time in district history, an Alpharetta High School teacher has been selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE). Tracy Misner, Audio- Video Tech & Film teacher, is one of only 124 people chosen from North America this year.
“It is truly an honor to be selected as an ADE. Apple recognizes and selects those teachers who employ technology on a regular basis in their class. It’s a great feeling to be celebrated with this elite class of educators.”
The program, created in 1994 by Apple, recognizes K-12 and higher-education teachers who are using Apple devices to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways. Since its inception 25 years ago, 2,800 people worldwide have been named ADE’s, and this is a first in Fulton County.
To qualify, Misner had to show Apple how he's transforming his classroom using the latest technology. Misner uses iMacs every day in class and training students on Final Cut Pro as well as the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. "Our post-production edit bays each feature 2 iMacs that students use to edit their videos. This is industry standard equipment and students are using this every day in our studio," Misner related. The studio at Alpharetta High School is a professional quality video studio using Apple products.
In his submission video, Misner showed Apple how students use the iMac, the iPad, the MacBook Pro, Final Cut Pro, GarageBand, AirDrop and FaceTime to do real world work. Misner uses FaceTime to bring in industry related interviews from around the world into his class. His FaceTime Friday program has featured Danny Zuker, executive producer for Modern Family and Tara Bennett, casting director for Stranger Things. "FaceTime allows me to bring in people to our class without the subject never leaving his/her own office- and at no cost to the district," Misner added
As part of the program, Misner will participate in a workshop convention this summer in Washington, D.C. where he'll have the opportunity to develop new skills using technology and best practices. Misner will also help also help design courses and digital books to help teachers across the world implement technology in their own classrooms.
