What is the Winston-Salem Film Academy?
The WSFA is an immersive hands-on film workshop designed to help teach students how to tell engaging stories. We will learn how to develop a team, how video and audio production work together, how to film using best practices for shot composition, lighting, video and audio acquisition, and how to edit and share an engaging story. If you've ever thought, 'hmm, I think I would enjoy learning how it all fits together with regard to video production", then this is YOUR program.

The Winston-Salem Film Academy is the brainchild of Tracy Misner, former Audio-Video instructor at Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. Mr. Misner brings over 25 years of professional audio and video experience to the students of The Winston-Salem Film Academy.
Misner started teaching at AHS in 2009 and retired in 2022. He developed a program that is recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
The WSFA is a way to reach to students during the summer months when Misner turns boredom into a creative endeavor utilizing the latest technology mixed with good old-fashioned creativity! Students will learn how to write, shoot, edit, upload and promote their videos to engage an audience.
Students will get to use Final Cut Pro X, a green screen studio and digital cameras. "When students have the latest technologies at their fingertips, it allows more time to focus on what matters most-telling a good story!"
And as they say in the "BIZ", it's all about the story!!! And that's a wrap.
